Eyeballs

This is how I feel today. ...okay, maybe not to this extreme, but we're on that track if I don't start getting better. But despite my congestion and weird sounding voice, today was hilarious.

Here's why. You just try taking notes when one of your eyeballs randomly starts watering and you can hardly see your notes or the teacher and you're sniffing like a crazy person the entire time all the while trying to stay awake. I still laugh when I think about it.

Also, "eyeball" is a fantastic word.

Sundays

I love Sundays. Sunday is the best day of the week. You get all dressed up and go to church and be edified and taught, come home, are taught some more by visiting teachers and home teachers, spend time reading the scriptures, praying, and just being alive. Sundays are the BEST. And especially right now when it's still beautiful outside and the leaves are changing, and a Sunday walk is just the thing you need to recharge your batteries and prepare for a new week.

This week will be a busy one for me. I have a Chemistry test to take tomorrow, a math test this weekend, and homework and projects to do in between. That's what I'm talkin bout! Don't you just love the insanity of school?

Thoughts recently: I love the fall. I love watching all the leaves change on the mountains, and on all of the trees in the neighborhood. Watching the leaves pile up on all the lawns reminds me of this old man that lives at the bottom of my street--he spends at least 2-3 hours everyday during the fall raking EVERY SINGLE LEAF off of his lawn, his driveway, and basically his entire corner. It is spotless. Each day, as the season grows colder, more leaves fall. And every day, he is out there doing the same thing - day after day. I always have wondered why. I kind of like the blanket of color that the leaves make on my lawn. But I do have to admit that he makes the corner of our street look absolutely fabulous because of his dedication and meticulousness. So, I get the best of both worlds--my colorful lawn, and his neat and tidy green one.

Gotta love the fall.

Also, best and funniest thing in the world happened tonight. Audge-podge and I bumped heads really hard while jumping over a concrete barrier and yelling "PARKOUR", and I laughed for at least 20 minutes, all the while crying in pain. "Parkour", you know what I mean?

Life and more life

Wow, where do I even begin! These first few weeks have been crazy, hard, amazing, and hard. I have had to plan out each and every hour of my day in order to stay on top of things. But it's all good. Good preparation for the rest of my life!
Some words.

Hard work. Hard tests. Hard classes. Interesting subjects. Funny teachers. Weird teachers. Teachers I'm ok with never having a class from again. Teachers I want for every class. Lib. And by that I mean, library. Granola bars. Oatmeal. Walking to school when it's freezing and beautiful. Missing best friends and family. Loving my roomies and our crazy log cabin for realzies. Solace. I love the temple. Saving my life. Lots of decisions. Lots of happiness and stuff. Nuff.

Loves and stuffing.

WOW YOU BIG BABIES

OK OK I KNOW I AM A CRAPPY BLOGGER.

I'm working on it. This is such a random and new thing for me that I sometimes forget about it, ok? STOP CRYING. I'm here and I'm writing--as you already noticed.

ANEEWAYS. So these last few weeks have been ridiculous and insane. I don't even know what in the world I'm doing sometimes--it just all happens to me. I went to Lake Powell with my family in July, and then two weeks later, an old friend that I haven't seen or hung out with for years asked me if I wanted to go to Lake Powell again with her family a few weeks later. So I thought, why not? I'm going to be working my head off in school this fall and won't have time to take off, so why not stock up on the vacations now? Basically I was birthed in Lake Powell and I will probably die there someday. It's one of my favorite places in the world.

Hmm...what else should I tell the world of internet readers that are apparently so fascinated with my life? Well, I'm really excited and scared for this fall semester because 1) I have a pretty nice fat plate of difficult classes that might or might not slap me in the face: Chemistry, Physics, Math, Mission Prep, and another that I can't remember at the moment, and 2) I have a plan about how I am going to spend each day and what I am going to get done. So basically, I am excited for the plan, but scared about the difficulty of the classes.

Here's the plan. I have my days basically set up in this order: I get up at 6:30 or so, run, or walk or jump rope or tight rope or scooter or skateboard or float around the neighborhood--and by all that I mean, some sort of exercise. Then I'll get ready for my first class (which starts at 8) and then head out. Most days of the week I will get out of class at 10 or so. From there, I'll be in the lib. And by that I mean, the library. I'll stay there kicking homework trash until I am finished or until my brain is too exhausted to continue, and then I'll head home (which hopefully won't be later than 5 or 6). THEN, I have all night to HANG OUT WITH THE BEST ROOMMATES IN THE WORLD....well, minus the one who is married JOSEPHUS and the one who is going on a mission KEN FACE SAVAGE...both of whom I MISS LIKE MAD.

Oh, and did I mention that when I said "all night" I meant until 10:30...cause THAT'S WHEN I'M GOING TO BED. Shocking I know, but true. If you have just passed out with shock after reading that sentence, please revive yourself. It will happen. I will do it. Sleep is important, and if I want to get straight A's this semester (which is another part of the plan), I need to sleep enough, and be on a good schedule. Another reason for my bedtime schedule--I was reading about it in the Doctrine and Covenants earlier this summer--you guys probably know the scripture, chapter 88:124 that says "...retire to thy bed early, that ye may not be weary; arise early, that your bodies and your minds may be invigorated." I read that earlier this summer and it really hit me that I need to be obedient to that counsel. So I'm going to. 'nuff said.

Well, I have to get ready for work. WOO! PILLS!!

Goodbye for now.

One word. Ragnar.

So, let me just tell you about my weekend in a few words.

Ragnar Relay.  188 miles.  Running my guts out in the heat, the night, and the early morning.  Profuse bleeding of the nose just a few minutes before running 4.5 miles.  3 hours of sleep.  The reflection of the moon on a lake as we drove past at 3 am.  Getting to know some incredible people and laughing our heads off.  Brian Regan.  Spaghetti...twice.  Racing down the canyon on my last run and listening to a Jojo song at least 500 times.  Adrenaline.  Green and more green.  The beauty of all those little towns.  Millfirth (well, that's what I wanted the town to be called).  Rocky Mountain High.  Thousands of people all running or driving together.  Random pioneer trekers on the road--we became best friends.  24 hours of awesome insanity.  Delirium at around 11 pm before we had a little time to sleep.  The red beaming sunrise.  More cowbell. One of the best experiences of my life.  Oh, and not really being able to walk the next day.  Also, I'm starting my training like NOW for next year.

Then after that.  Speaking in church the next day with my old Stake President and his wife who are going to be Mission Presidents in Barcelona.  I wish I could go with them.  Spain.  I love Spain.  Wonderful Father's Day with my family.

Pita chips are probably the best thing that ever happened to me.

Just some thoughts...

Here are some random thoughts for your enjoyment:

--Laughter changes everything and makes almost every situation better.

--Complaining is a waste of time; it does not change the circumstance, it brings everyone down and it just makes things harder.

--Crude jokes and bathroom humor are not funny-- whenever I am around people who think otherwise, I see it as a sign of immaturity.  Sad, but true.

--I wish I could have a chance to fly like a bird.  Sometimes I wish I could just grow wings and fly around my neighborhood and just see what it feels like.

--I want to have a pet lion someday.  Also, those little hoppy birds that are always around outside restaurant tables.  You know what I'm talking about.  They are usually really fat and can hardly fly.  Yeah.  Love those.

--This world is beautiful, and life is a gift.

Run Run Run

Well, here's some big news.  I'm going to run a half marathon.  In like 3 weeks.  It blows me away.  HA!  I don't even know what to do with myself.  So, here's the scoop.  The pharmacist that I work with is involved in this huge race here called the Wasatch Back.  It runs from Logan to Park City--about 100 miles.
Anyways, so she has run it before and this year she had to help get a team of 6 people together (you go in groups and each take 3 different legs of the race).  She had asked a few weeks ago if I would be interested in joining her team, but I told her that my asthma bothers me with long distance running.  Well, she has been searching frantically for another person to fill the team (if you don't have a full team you can't run it) and finally I told her that I could probably help her out if she couldn't find anyone else.

Well, guess what folks--she couldn't find anyone else and I'M DOING IT.   I still can't believe it.  It will be one of the most insane, deathly and amazing experiences ever.  I'm really excited and kind of scared.  I have been running every day to build up my asthmatic endurance--so we'll see where it takes me! I can't believe I'm doing this, but I also am so excited I don't even know how to describe it.  This is supposed to be one of the most beautiful runs in the state.  I can't wait!

Also, if I die, I love you all.

:)
